“Licenses do not match” error when uploading a Continuous Delivery for Puppet Enterprise or Comply license

You renew your license for Continuous Delivery for Puppet Enterprise (PE) or Comply and receive a new license. When you upload the new license in Puppet Application Manager (PAM), you get a Licenses do not match error.

Error messages and logs

Your new license must contain the same unique identifier (licenseID) that your old one did. If your license is generated in error as new license (instead of as a renewal) by our team, it has a new unique identifier, and you get a Licenses do not match error.

Solution

If you have this error, get in touch with your account manager or open a support ticket to let us know that you need a license that has the same licenseID as your old one did.
