Puppet Enterprise 2019.8 is our newest long-term supported release (LTS), meaning you can expect full support, security updates and bug fixes through June 30, 2022. This version is right for you if you want continued security updates and full support without upgrading your implementation on a frequent basis.
If you're running Puppet Enterprise 2018.1, our previous LTS release, it reached end-of-life on 31 January 2021. Please take advantage of all that's new since 2018.1:
-
Simplified installation
-
FIPS compliance: PE is now fully operable on select FIPS platforms.
-
Agent installation from the console: You can now add *nix and Windows agents to target nodes from the console using
pe_bootstrap
tasks. -
Support for agentless nodes and network devices
- Plans in PE
-
PuppetDB on compilers
-
Patch management
-
Lockless code deploys
Note: Lockless deploys are an experimental feature which might experience breaking changes in future releases. We recommend testing the feature in a non-production environment before enabling it in production.
