Deploy code using a task in Puppet Enterprise 2017.3 and later

You want to deploy code, but don’t have access the command line.

PE version: 2017.3 and later

Note: If you’re using a version of the puppetlabs-support_tasks module older than 1.1.1 (2020 17 January), please update the module to use these steps. We renumbered all the tasks in the module at that time.

Solution

You can deploy code to one environment or all available environments from the console by installing a module and running a task.

Before you begin:

To use this task, you must have a valid active RBAC token. If you do not, you can create one by following the steps in our documentation or using a task in the support_tasks module.

To use this task:

1. Download and install the puppetlabs-support_tasks module which includes the task for this solution.

2. In the console, in the Run section, click Task.

3. In the Task field, select st0298.

4. Under Task parameters in the Value field, enter the environment to deploy code to. You can enter one environment by entering its name or all environments by entering all.
