Running a plan with a file path in it from Puppet Enterprise fails

When you run a plan in Puppet Enterprise that includes a key in a map with a backslash \ as the first character (typically a file path), the plan fails. However, the plan works when you run it from Bolt.

Solution

This was fixed in PE 2018.8.11 and 2021.6.

To run the plan, do one of the following:

• Upgrade to either PE 2018.8.11 (or later versions of 2018.8) or to PE 2021.6 and later to avoid the issue.

• Install Bolt and run the plan from Bolt.
