Upgrading Puppet Enterprise agents fails with a Red Hat registration error

When you upgrade Puppet Enterprise agents, it fails with a Red Hat registration error.

Error messages

This system is not registered with RHN Classic or Red Hat Satellite.
You can use rhn_register to register.
Red Hat Satellite or RHN Classic support will be disabled.
Error downloading packages:
 pe-java11-2021.7.11.0.16.8-1.pe.el7.x86_64: [Error 256] No more mirrors to try.

You are getting this error because your primary server is set up to use a Red Hat subscription but is unregistered.

PE version: All supported

Solution

To fix this issue, you can either register the primary server for a Red Hat subscription, or remove the Red Hat subscription-manager from the primary server.
