Older Puppet documentation and Support Knowledge Base articles are available in our docs-archive repository. They're available to help you troubleshoot issues on older versions of our products. You can always find documentation for our newer, supported products on our docs site and here at the Support Portal.
Archived knowledge base articles
At our archive, you'll find an easy to navigate list of articles that covers only Puppet Enterprise versions earlier than 2018.1. If you can't find an older article there, it might still be here; some of the articles at the Support Portal cover older versions of PE (but also include newer versions).
Archived Puppet Enterprise documentation
Steps in the Puppet Enterprise documentation describe only the latest version of a given release. If you need them to troubleshoot issues, there are PDFs of some prior versions of documentation in the PE docs archive.
PDFs are not our primary delivery format, so you might notice some quirks, for example:
- Documentation that’s sourced from open source component repositories, such as Puppet Server and some reference docs, are omitted from PDFs.
- Code blocks don’t display well in PDF. We’ve preserved accurate formatting of code blocks, rather than inserting artificial line breaks. To see code blocks that overrun the page in PDF, copy and paste them into a text editor.
PE docs for the last version of end-of-life PE versions are available from the Using the PE docs page.
For supported versions of PE, go to the latest version of the PE documentation and select a version from the dropdown menu.
